EC: EZPPS Din-Rail Mount Power Supply
Power - Energy, power protection: EZAutomation's EZPPS series are ultra compact, din-rail mount, digitally programmable, industrial power supplies (SMPS) with built-in LED displays for diagnostics. This is a Control Engineering 2016 Engineers’ Choice finalist.
Too often maintenance engineers are concerned about the dc voltage and current draw from their switch mode power supply (SMPS) in the control panel. With a typical power supply you will need to have a volt meter and a clamp current meter to find out the load on the SMPS. EZAutomation's Programmable Power Supply (EZPPS) changes this forever. With its bright 2- and 3-digit LED displays, load voltage and output current, respectively, are displayed on the fly.
In addition all SMPS's have limited life due to the electrolytic capacitors in the circuit which are dependent on the current draw and the temperature of the power supply. EZPPS keeps track of the total number of hours it has been on and furthermore provides an early warning alarm for preventive maintenance and replacement before the power supply dies a sudden death.
The EZPPS series, with 24 Vdc output, ranging from 30 to 240 Watts, come equipped with two push buttons for simple field programming of its "current limit." The EZPPS also has dc output monitoring capabilities via a PNP output which is useful for providing a visual alert of any short-circuit or overload condition.
With its ultra-compact design, the EZPPS equipped with a self-locking din-rail latch is one third to half the size of competing products, saving important real-estate in the control cabinet. The 240-Watt model is less than 2 in. wide with a total volume of just 30.6 cu. in.
Finally, with EZPPS' triple protection for short-circuit, overvoltage, and over temperature with automatic recovery, it is the most robust and smart din-mount SMPS in the market while maintaining a cost effective price point and continuing to support EZAutomation's “Made in America” campaign.
