iVu Bar Code Reader - The iVu Bar Code Reader reads 11 industry-standard bar codes and allows users to efficiently configure, monitor and modify an inspection on-site through its integrated touch screen. This is a Control Engineering 2011 Engineers' Choice (EC) nominee. As the first industrial touch screen bar code reader, the iVu Bar Code Reader (BCR) reads 11 industry-standard bar codes to facilitate advanced traceability, a critical strategy for ensuring highest product quality in packaging, material handling, pharmaceutical and many industrial applications. The iVu BCR deciphers bar codes of varying types to verify correct content at production speeds of hundreds of parts per minute, all within a single compact, rugged package.

Sharing the same integrated touch screen design as the first iVu series model, the iVu TG Image Sensor, the iVu BCR allows users to efficiently configure, monitor and modify an inspection on-site. This innovative machine vision solution is both easy to install and support, right on the factory floor. The iVu BCR's intuitive interface reduces operator training time and allows first-time users to set up complex applications without a PC or external controller. It additionally features a software emulator that lets users perfect their application and preload parameters offline.

The iVu BCR's compact, rugged IP67-rated housing is available with an optional integrated ring light, offered in red, white or infrared, to optimize contrast in machine vision inspections. Exposure times as fast as 0.1 ms ensure the product's reliable performance on high-speed assembly lines.

The iVu BCR is also available as a Remote Series Sensor, an arrangement in which the sensor's integrated touch screen is replaced with a separate iVu Remote Touch Screen Display. This arrangement allows users to program multiple iVu Remote Series Sensors through a single display and change inspection parameters remotely, ideal for vision inspections in hard-to-access areas.

Poll of the Week

Are your industrial networks well defended against cyber attacks?
Like Fort Knox. Solid defense in depth.
Well defended, I think, but not positive.
Working on it, but not there yet.
Few defenses, but who would find us?
We’re wide open, living on borrowed time.
