Junma AC Servo Series. The Junma servo system provides a cost-effective alternative to stepper technology allowing for increased throughput with minimal commissioning effort. This is a Control Engineering 2012 Engineers’ Choice finalist. The Junma Servopack has been designed with a number of features that simplify the transition from a stepper system. This new plug-and-play concept requires no parameter settings or gain adjustments; all system parameters are set on power-up without any user interaction. Load inertia is detected automatically and adaptive tuning algorithms calculate and adjust servo gains dynamically, even when the load changes. Machine vibrations are suppressed with the turn of a rotary switch. A pulse and direction control input allows for a simple interface to most stepper controllers. The result of this integrated functionality ensures simplified machine commissioning while achieving steady high-precision positioning and optimum efficiency.

Since the Junma servo system provides significantly more torque at higher speeds than a stepper system, machine throughput can be dramatically improved with a simple tweak of the application move profile (acceleration, move speed, deceleration). This translates directly to the end user's bottom line by decreasing cost per part. All of this functionality, performance, and ease of use comes at a price point that is no more than 10% above that of a comparable stepper system.
