EC: KEPServerEX 5.21 device and IoT connectivity software

Software — Industrial Internet of Things connectivity: KEPServerEX v5.20 offers additional device and IoT connectivity and an improved user experience for customers in several vertical industries, including Building Automation, Manufacturing, and Oil & Gas. This is a Control Engineering 2017 Engineers’ Choice Awards Finalist.

KEPServerEX is the industry's leading connectivity platform that provides a single source of industrial automation data to all applications. The platform design allows users to connect, manage, monitor, and control diverse automation devices and software applications through one intuitive user interface.

KEPServerEX leverages OPC (the automation industry's standard for interoperability) and IT-centric communication protocols (such as SNMP, ODBC, and web services) to provide users with a single source for industrial data. Designed around the four product pillars of Proven Interoperability, Centralized Communications, On-Demand Scalability, and Industrial Strength, KEPServerEX is developed and tested to meet our customers' performance, reliability, and ease-of-use requirements.

KEPServerEX v5.20 includes the following key updates:

  • The enhanced BACnet/IP driver offers users in the Building Automation Industry even more options for connectivity and control through its new support of the Accumulator Standard Object, Object-Level Command Priority, and Alarm and Event Services.

  • The ThingWorx agent, available in the IoT Gateway for KEPServerEX, provides improved interoperability with the ThingWorx IoT Platform and enables users to move industrial data on the edge into ThingWorx using the secure ThingWorx binary protocol for high throughput. Additional updates to the IoT Gateway include support for MQTT writes, Array writes, and Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS).

KEPServerEX v5.20 also features updates to 30 drivers and advanced plug-ins, including the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Ethernet driver with added support for firmware version 28 across L8 and L7 models from Rockwell Automation.
