Today, many engineers face data corrosion and network downtime challenges due to unreliable commercial grade Ethernet equipment being used for edge level device networking applications. The solution? Considering an industrial managed Ethernet switch can resolve connectivity, data management, and 24/7 network uptime issues frequently faced by engineers.

Antaira’s LMP-1002G-SFP series is a 10-port industrial gigabit PoE+ managed Ethernet switch series that boasts a compact design, DIN-Rail mounting and IP30 ratings. There are eight 10/100/1000Tx fast Ethernet ports and two 100/1000Fx SFP slots for short/long haul fiber connections. Each Ethernet port supports IEEE 802.3at/af standard PoE+/PoE up to a maximum of 30 W power output to any PoE powered device, plus Jumbo Frame support for large Ethernet packets up to 9.6 Kbps. The series provides a dual power input for a power back up solution, and wide operating temperature support including a standard version designed for -10 to 70 C and an extended version designed for -40 to 75 C.

The pre-loaded Layer 2 network management software provides a user friendly web console interface and Telnet Command Line option for configuration. The series provides the open standard STP/RSTP/MSTP, or ITU-U G803.2 ERPS (Ethernet ring protection switch) options with fast network recovery time <50 ms for redundancy network topology setup. The advanced network management functions, such as IGMP, VLAN, QoS and SNMP can improve the determinism within any automation control network and the PoE ping alert function allows each PoE port to recycle power of any field powered device, if necessary.

To enhance remote network management, the Advanced Event Alert software function allows the unit to be setup to automatically email out any event failure, such as port or power failures, etc., messages to engineers. In addition, the series’ high MTBF ratings make industrial networking applications more robust and long lasting within factory automation, ITS, power/utility, water/wastewater, or any other outdoor/harsh environment industries.
