Quint UPS-IQ intelligent uninterruptible power supply. The Quint UPS-IQ is an intelligent uninterruptible power supply that monitors a scalable battery solution and provides the user with critical data. This is a Control Engineering 2012 Engineers’ Choice finalist. The Quint UPS-IQ uses Phoenix Contact's newly developed IQ technology to increase system reliability. The DIN rail-mounted uninterruptible power supply (UPS) monitors a scalable battery solution and provides the user with critical operational data. This product will be utilized wherever and whenever battery backup is needed and in mission-critical systems that cannot lose power.

IQ technology makes Quint UPS-IQ unique by providing adaptive battery management on several levels:

  • State of charge: Indicates the remaining backup time and level of charge on the battery. Customers will be able to see the amount of available time left with a quick glance.
  • State of health: Indicates the remaining service life of the battery module. The history of the battery modules is recorded and an indicator shows when the battery needs to be replaced before it becomes a concern.
  • State of function: Indicates the functional performance of the battery modules. The available capacity of the battery is provided, indicating how well the battery is accepting the charge and if the full capacity is still available.

The IQ technology manages the battery status and displays all of the relevant data on the UPS front panel, or transmits it to a computer. As a result, the user always knows the charge state, remaining buffer time, and expected lifetime.  For 24 V loads, the QUINT UPS-IQ has output currents of 5, 10, 20, and 40 A. The ac version has an output power of 500 VA.  Other system features include alarm contacts, automatic PC shutdown and restart, triggering e-mails, and event logging. The entire system, including the battery modules, is UL 508 and 1778 Listed.
