EC: XV Series Operator Interface Solutions
Hardware – Integrated HMI-controller: The new Eaton XV Series of operator interfaces allows customers to easily create Web-based applications for the manufacturing environment that enhance their ability to diagnose machine faults, prevent downtime, reduce maintenance costs, improve process effectiveness, and bring their machines to market faster. This is a Control Engineering 2012 Engineers’ Choice Award Winner.
The Eaton XV Series new line of operator interfaces engineered for optimal connectivity provides customers with flexibility in design, communications, and application. The XV Series has a broad array of serial and Ethernet connectivity options and is rated for global applications in a slim, lightweight OEM design.
With these advanced operator interface solutions, customers can easily create Web-based applications for the manufacturing environment that enhance their ability to diagnose machine faults, prevent downtime, reduce maintenance costs, and improve process effectiveness. Each model comes equipped with Eaton’s Visual Designer software that is optimized for OEMs and designed for interoperability, simplicity, and security. It is powerful, intuitive, and allows for the quick design and implementation of graphical user interface solutions. Its time-saving features help lower customers’ installation costs. The elegant user interface helps make advanced features easier to implement, including: data archiving, recipe management, multilanguage, Structured Query Language database access, and Web serving.
In addition to basic monitor and control, Visual Designer software has a wide array of advanced features that help streamline the design of sophisticated applications. Simplified yet powerful security means that the same local user accounts and passwords for viewing and control also apply remotely. Additionally, Visual Designer software allows Eaton’s XV Series to communicate with a variety of networks, PLCs, Web clients, and databases. The new XV Series is available in a variety of screen sizes, ranging from 3.5 to 10.4-in. All models include both serial and Ethernet ports. Other connectivity and memory options include SD, CompactFlash, USB, and multiple Ethernet ports.
