Eclipse-based IDE captures two prestigious awards

Express Logic’s royalty-free BenchX IDE wins Venture Development Corp.’s Best in Show and eg3.com’s Editor’s Tech Choice awards

San Diego, CA Express Logic , a provider of royalty-free real-time operating systems (RTOS), received two prestigious awards from industry editors and analysts for its BenchX Eclipse-based IDE for embedded development. Venture Development Corp. (VDC) awarded BenchX its “Best in Show” award at the 2008 Embedded Systems Conference–Silicon Valley, and eg3.com gave Express Logic its “Editor’s Tech Choice” award in recognition of the “significant value BenchX represents as a new product for embedded developers.”
VDC, a technology market research and strategy firm, has over 30 years’ experience providing market research, strategic analysis and consulting services to technology companies worldwide. Each year, VDC awards its highly coveted “Embeddy” to the product judged to be the “Best in Show” at the Embedded Systems Conference–Silicon Valley. ESC-SV is said to be the largest North American conference focused on the embedded systems industry.
The company notes, “Express Logic has been a supplier of commercial real-time operating systems and middleware for overt is adequate for the requirements of many embedded projects.” 
Said to be the oldest and largest Web portal for embedded systems, eg3.com, seeks to identify tools that attract developer interest across embedded domains from software to boards, from chips to FPGAs, and from DSP to Internet-enabling communications. The company’s Tech Choice awards involve two tiers—the Editor’s Tech Choice and the Readers’ Tech Choice. In awarding the Editor’s Tech Choice award for Embedded Tools, the Web portal identified BenchX announcements as newsworthy and significant to the embedded industry.
