ECM extension: Oracle to buy document capture specialist Captovation

Oracle has an agreement in play to acquire Captovation , a vendor of document-capture solutions that streamline the process of accessing and gathering content within business applications and processes. The buy will strengthen Oracle's enterprise content management (ECM) software portfolio to comprise an integrated solution for overall transactional content management.
Such a solution will help manufacturers simplify back-office operations and streamline regulatory compliance.
The deal is expected to close by February 2008.
Oracle ECM is a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, a standards-compliant foundation for service-oriented architecture.
