Embedded Systems Conference 2005 fast approaching

The 17th edition of Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) is just around the corner. This year’s event promises to be memorable as it combines a 350-company exhibition of the latest embedded hardware and software products with a comprehensive conference program—132 classes, 16 full-day tutorials, seven design seminars, Microprocessor Summit, and numerous vendor workshops—at San Francisco‘s Moscone Center. Conferences and classes will run March 6-10, 2005, while the floor exhibits take place March 8-10.

New to ESC this year, the Microprocessor Summit will serve as a forum for major semiconductor companies to make known their near-future plans along with their current chip products, in a one-day program on March 7. The one- and two-day design seminars, also new for 2005, will focus on the following topics:

• Analog and power (March 7);

• Digital signal processor performance (March 7);

• Easy paths to silicon (March 7, 8);

• Consumer systems (March 8, 9);

• 3G cellular systems (March 8, 9);

• Wireless networking (March 9, 10); and

• Network systems (March 9, 10).

Keynote address of Embedded Systems Conference 2005, entitled “From Cubicles to Comics,” will be given by Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams, on Tuesday, March 8, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
