Emerson has acquired Numatics Inc., a Highland, MI-based manufacturer of pneumatic control and motion-control products for industrial applications. The move extends Emerson’s portfolio of fluid power products and technologies in the global market.

“This further strengthens our offering to global customers in several high-growth applications areas,” said Jean-Paul Montupet, business leader for industrial automation at Emerson, “including electronics manufacturing and assembly, medical and analytical, packaging, and other high-speed assembly.”

Numatics serves manufacturing and packaging industries with fluid power products and technologies and has manufacturing locations in North America and Europe. It will become a unit of Emerson Industrial Automation and is expected to strengthen the existing fluid automation technology and capabilities.
