Emerson Process Management reports that its new Rosemount 752 remote indicator provides multi-function display on FOUNDATION fieldbus segments. Adding to PlantWeb’s digital plant architecture functions, Rosemount 752 allows data from intelligent field devices to be displayed throughout the plant. Rosemount 752 has ATEX intrinsically safe approval and FISCO certification to enable efficient use with devices and displays installed in the hazardous areas common in many plants.
Designed for monitoring in the field and close to the process, Rosemount 752 connects and sequentially displays up to eight function block values from any device on an H1 segment. Each plant measurement or reading is shown for three seconds, along with a tag identifier and the engi-neering units.
Applications for the 752 Indicator include display at grade level of data from any instrument mounted in an inaccessible location. For example, the indicator conveniently acquires data from instruments on the top or bottom of tanks for use in measuring tank level and contents. Applica-tions have also included display of flow in elevated steam lines, and water flow in buried pipe-lines. Rosemount 752 can work with the Rosemount 848T multi-input temperature transmitter, which enables display of eight separate temperature readings.
The Remote Indicator can display all relevant information about a control loop, including the set point being requested, the output of a PID controller driving a valve, the actual valve position, and any function block output from any device on the segment. 752 can also be equipped with its own function to provide advanced calculation and control capability for use with devices on the segment.
