Austin, TX— To help users gather, distribute, and apply data to improve plant throughput, quality and uptime, Emerson Process Management recently formed an alliance with OSIsoft . Whether automating new facilities or upgrading existing systems, Emerson and OSIsoft say their alliance will allow users to link their process automation systems with real-time operational data from OSIsoft, a leading provider of real-time performance management software. The alliance also provides a foundation for continuously improving engineering, consulting, project manage-ment and maintenance services.

Emerson and OSIsoft will provide comprehensive solutions consisting of Emerson's PlantWeb digital plant architecture and OSIsoft's RtPM real-time information management software. Emerson’s PlantWeb uses systems, software and intelligent field devices to deliver real-time automation and performance information to personnel running manufacturing facilities. OSIsoft provides an software platform to help plant personnel capture, analyze, distribute and visualize real-time information, so decisions can be made rapidly to maximize productivity.

"This alliance will enhance Emerson’s ability to deliver real-time information to help new and upgraded facilities optimize performance and reliability," says Steve Colella, business development VP for Emerson’s solutions division. "The combination of PlantWeb and OSIsoft’s RtPM brings together innovative, proven technology for gathering, distributing and using data to improve plant throughput, quality, and uptime."

Collela adds that another key aspect of the alliance is that it gives customers access to Emerson and OSIsoft’s industry-specific engineering, consulting, project management and maintenance services for the chemical, oil and gas, refining, life sciences, power, and water and waste industries, among others.

“Real-time data management is critical to process manufacturing success,” said Michael Saucier, OSIsoft’s marketing VP. “The information solutions implemented by OSIsoft and Emerson will enable manufacturers to unlock hidden efficiencies and improve business management.”
