Enea relocates North American headquarters


Enea , a global leader in advanced device software, announced the relocation of its North American headquarters from Phoenix, AZ, to Silicon Valley. The new San Jose, CA, office will provide marketing, sales, technical support, and professional services to numerous nearby customers and partners, says the company.

Founded in 1968 in Sweden, Enea’s products are embedded in many high-tech devices from mobile phones to automobiles and medical systems. The company states that it’s the leading supplier of operating systems to the global telecommunications industry, with approximately 50% market share of new mobile phones and base stations worldwide. Its software is reportedly embedded in more than 100 million devices worldwide.


To serve its global customer base, Enea provides the industry’s largest professional engineering and consulting corps, with more than 300 engineers located in offices throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. Its flagship product family, OSE, introduced in 1984, carries the claim of the “world’s most tested and trusted family of real-time (RT) operating systems.” Other products include Polyhedra, a small footprint RT device database that brings desktop computer power to the palm of a hand, and Element, a recently introduced middleware solution said to significantly accelerate software development for complex systems with multiple processors.
