Energy management for conservation and cost reduction are major goals for operators of medium and large buildings. To help energy managers, facility managers, building occupants, and executives accomplish these objectives, Pulse Energy and Opto22 have combined their expertise to offer customers the visibility and data they need to understand their energy usage, pinpoint problems, and reduce costs.

Through their newly formed business partnership, Pulse Energy and Opto22 have reportedly made it significantly easier for commercial and institutional customers to monitor their energy consumption, gather energy use data, and use it to reduce their utility bills. Specifically, Opto 22’s OptoEMU Sensor energy monitoring appliance now couples with Pulse energy management software. This combination will allow customers to connect metering devices, electrical panels, machines and equipment and deliver comprehensive energy-related data over standard networks and the Web for viewing and analysis.

“Pulse makes it easy to monitor, understand, and manage energy use,” says Opto 22 Chief Executive Officer Mark Engman. “The software gives engineering and automation teams, energy managers, and other decision makers the monitoring tools they need to quickly and easily understand, and effectively manage their facilities.”

One of the easiest ways for businesses to cut operational costs is by better managing their energy usage. To this end, the new partnership allegedly merges Opto 22’s considerable experience as a provider of monitoring and data acquisition hardware, with Pulse Energy’s Web-based Pulse energy management software and its powerful capabilities for measurement and verification, anomaly detection, and benchmarking.

“Opto 22 has a reputation for quality, durability and ease of use,” said Pulse Energy CEO David Helliwell. “The OptoEMU hardware appliances supply our software with reliable, easy-to-read streams of building energy data and are the ideal platform for our energy management software.”
