Version 3.0 of Longwatch’s Video Surveillance System enables SCADA system operators to monitor remote locations visually using existing communication networks. System uses existing low-bandwidth or broadband communication networks to transmit video. New features include IP cameras, card access control, pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras, and enhanced system integration. Video surveillance and card access integration allows operators to provide a higher level of security at remote locations, providing immediate visual confirmation of people entering a facility, or store a video clip for future reference. PTZ cameras reportedly reduce installation costs by eliminating the need for multiple cameras. One camera can survey multiple areas; operators can change operating parameters easily as needed.
