On-demand remote service specialist Axeda says it will partner with Deloitte Consulting , with the development of the system integrator’s Live Intelligence Platform– to connect physical assets across the enterprise in one unified solution as opposed to the piecemeal point-solutions approach that most companies use today.

A patchwork of point solutions for asset connectivity can contribute to operational inefficiencies and adoption road blocks. Deloitte and Axeda see a high demand for a neutral and unifying platform solution for distributed asset intelligence.

“Our primary motivation is to respond to the shift from supply to demand economics and the lack of real-time awareness,” says Doug Standley, principal, Deloitte Consulting. “The market is very large and underserved, which prompted us to take an active market-enabling position with Axeda. The neutrality of the Live Intelligence Platform provides a means to better connect and empower people, assets and information.”

Live Intelligence Platform helps organizations in their efforts to consolidate redundant processes and enable them to actively incorporate their enterprise assets into operations. It suits almost any company that wants to intelligently connect, monitor, and measure their mobile and fixed assets around the globe.

“We believe Axeda’s remote services pedigree combined with Deloitte’s project delivery experience is a major milestone for the remote service space and a positive development for end users considering smart service technologies,” says Benjamin Friedman, research manager for Framingham, Mass.-based Manufacturing Insights .far as companies can maintain service levels and grow revenue while lowering their labor costs.”
