ESD names Squillo VP

Thomas Squillo, an expert in HVAC design and analysis, has been named vice president at ESD. He will be leading the mission critical facilities group.

Thomas Squillo has been named a vice president at ESD (Environmental Systems Design Inc.) and will lead mechanical engineering design initiatives for ESD’s national mission critical facilities group. He has more than 28 years of experience in HVAC design and analysis and has been responsible for numerous large scale data center projects, many with a focus on low energy use and sustainability. Squillo has expertise in emerging data center technology trends such as heat containment, high performance computing environments, liquid cooling at the rack and server level, and evaporative cooling. He comes to ESD from EYP Mission Critical Facilities Inc., an HP Co., where he was responsible for planning, design, and technical delivery of large scale data centers.

Squillo received master of science and bachelor of science degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Illinois, Texas, Georgia, and Indiana; a LEED BD+C Accredited Professional; Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer; and City of Chicago Registered Energy Professional.
