Ethernet box offers analog inputs, outputs on one device

Machine-mountable Beckhoff Automation EP4374 EtherCAT combination I/O box enhances machine design flexibility, with two analog inputs and two analog outputs in one device.

Beckhoff Automation has reportedly extended its range of IP67 I/O modules with the new EP4374 EtherCAT Box. This flexible, moisture and dust-resistant I/O device combines two analog inputs and two analog outputs into one device.

The versatile EP4374 I/O box is a reportedly finely scalable EtherCAT solution that empowers machine builders to plan ahead based on demand and, therefore design more cost-effectively. The input and output channels can be parameterized independent of each other for the standard signals 0-10 V, ±10 V, 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA.

With the combination of parameterizable inputs and outputs in a single rugged housing, EP4374 users benefit from increased flexibility and can utilize the existing signals in an optimized manner. This new EtherCAT Box features two input channels and two output channels. Each channel is configurable individually for current or voltage measurement or output. The resolution for the current and voltage signals is 16 bit (signed).

The EP4374-0002 module reportedly has a direct EtherCAT connection, so that the high performance of 100 Mbit/s Industrial Ethernet is retained right down to each IP67 box. The compact dimensions of the EtherCAT Box of only 126 x 30 x 26.5 mm (H x W x D) make it ideal for applications in confined spaces.
