Irvine, CA and Boston, MA —CS6910G Gigabit Ethernet industrial camera from Toshiba Teli America Inc. incorporates a Super CCD honeycomb color sensor. Introduced last week in Boston at the Vision Show East, the device conforms to the new AIA GigE Vision protocol and is compatible with standard Gigabit Ethernet hardware, ports, and cables, eliminating the expense of specialized interface cards or frame grabbers.

CS6910G Gigabit Ethernet industrial camera from Toshiba Teli America Inc. incorporates a Super CCD honeycomb color sensor.

Honeycomb Super CCD color sensor reportedly provides superior color reproduction and high sensitivity. Sensor uses an innovative honeycomb layout of octagonal photodiodes to deliver more horizontal/vertical resolution than convention CCDs.

Among other camera features is the bandwidth required to stream non-compressed RGB 24-bit color video at up to 30 frames per second at 1,280 x 960 pixel resolution (SXGA) over CAT5e cabling to a host PC up to 300 ft away. CS6910G also includes progressive scanning, random trigger, electronic shutter (1/15,000 to 8 s), and external trigger. Casing weighs just 200 g and measures 54 mm wide x 43 mm high x 44.5 mm deep.
