UBox family of external USB device servers allows many standard, off-the-shelf USB devices to be connected, shared, and controlled over LANs/WANs and the Internet. USB-to-Ethernet interface makes it possible to link products not previously part of the office network, including multifunction printers, scanners, storage subsystems, security ID devices, card readers, bar code scanners, and PDAs. Product does not depend on a dedicated PC for device sharing; it removes short-distance cable limitations of USB technology by converting the signal to Ethernet. Once a device is attached to the network, UBox allows individual or shared access to the peripherals from any PC.
