Teledyne Dalsa Genie TS series cameras combine advancements in Teledyne Dalsa’s CMOS imaging sensor technology with a newly optimized camera series for the GigE Vision camera.

The Genie TS series will include VGA, 1.2, 1.4, 2, 4, 5, 8 and 12 megapixel formats, reach speeds up to 300 fps and be available in both monochrome and color versions.

This next generation imaging platform has advanced features, such as image filtering, image compression, color correction, color space conversion, and image transfer-on-demand. Engineered to meet the ever increasing speed and image clarity requirements of machine vision, the Genie TS is designed for a wide-range of industrial applications including semiconductors, electronics, food, packaging and other manufacturing and assembly processes.

The Genie TS is also engineered for Intelligent Traffic/Transportation Systems (ITS) applications. Integrated performance and operational capabilities include remarkable dynamic range to optimize image capture from sun-to-shade, motorized lens control with image-to-image aperture, zoom and focus functionality, auto iris, and both RS485 and RS232 ports to control peripherals around the camera. These features are all built into a tough, compact body equipped with a GigE Vision-compliant, direct-to-PC interface, which makes high speed data transfer and multi-camera networks easy to deploy.

Genie TS meets the performance and operational requirements of a wide range of discrete applications, said Manny Romero, Genie product manager for Teledyne Dalsa. "From the harsh environments of manufacture and assembly, to the ruggedized, critical performance requirements of transport and security, to the scientific clarity of bio-medical labs and semiconductor clean-rooms, the Genie TS series will accelerate application development, simplify deployment and optimize system management and maintenance."

GigE Vision

Like all Genie cameras, the Genie TS Series is GigE Vision-compliant, and is based on the AIA (Automated Imaging Association) GigE Vision Standard. This new series of Genie cameras takes full advantage of Gigabit Ethernet technology, transmitting data over standard CAT-5e and CAT-6 cables to distances of up to 100 m allowing for a greater distance between the camera and inspection system.

Software Advantage

The Genie TS cameras are supported by Teledyne Dalsa’s Sapera Essential software and its Genie Framework package for fast and simple camera set-up. Moreover, the Genie Framework employs Teledyne Dalsa’s advanced Trigger-to-Image Reliability engineering, significantly accelerating application development and deployment time by providing developers with a 360-degree view of the entire acquisition process.
