Micronor’s MR380 Fiber Optic Estop and MR382 Fiber Optic U-Beam Sensor are fiber-optic signaling products designed for use in harsh or hazardous environments from mines to wind turbines and from petrochemical plants to medical MRI applications. The MR380 series Fiber Optic Emergency Stop offers Estop Functional Safety compliance with SIL1 rating. The MR382 series Fiber Optic U-Beam Sensor is a general purpose photo interruption/slot sensor typically used as a gear tooth speed sensor, edge detector or proximity sensor. The products consist of a passive optical sensor which links to a remote DIN-rail mount controller module via an industry standard OM1 62.5/125 multimode fiber optic link up to 2500 m (8200 ft). The sensors and optical links are rated inherently safe Ex op is and are immune to EMI, RFI, lightning, high voltage discharges, and ground loops. Special engineered versions are available for MRI applications, radiation and vacuum environments.
