Courtesy: FestoThe CTEU bus node from Festo makes it easy to add Fieldbus connectivity to pneumatic valve terminals. The CTEU bus node inexpensively opens up DeviceNet, CANopen, EtherCat, Profibus, and more to multiple Festo valve terminal models, including MPA-L, VTUB, CPV, VTUG, and VTOC.

The CTEU supports inputs and output, is independent of valve terminal size and has separate supply and load voltage for safety applications. It also meets IP65 and IP67 ratings.

A single CTEU can also provide fieldbus connectivity to two valve terminals at the same time with the addition of Festo CAPC adapters, allowing a single CETU bus node to be used in small installation systems for even greater wiring and installation savings.

All compatible valve terminals can be directly operated with IO-Link masters or the Festo CPX-CTEL master control and information module. The diagnostics functions of the CTEU reduce downtime and machine failure, for example, by identifying under-voltage and short circuits.
