Ashcroft’s type 1198 finned siphon is designed to protect pressure instruments from the effects of elevated temperatures. A reduced orifice decreases the volume of the process in the siphon. This allows efficient heat transfer between the process and the siphon. The siphon’s metallic fins maximize exposure to the ambient temperature for effective dissipation. It is capable of containing pressure up to 3000 psi and can also support media temperatures up to 371 C (700 F). It has 316L stainless steel construction and a built-in dampening mechanism designed to control the effects of pulsation.
