Oak Brook, IL — Control Engineering announces its first-ever “System Integrator of the Year” awards. Contract engineering firms and engineering divisions of large companies that design and implement computerized control systems for industrial machinery, manufacturing lines, or other automated facilities are invited to enter the competition. Deadline for entries is August 1.

Entries will be evaluated by Control Engineering ‘s editorial staff and a panel of industry experts on the basis of three criteria: business skills, technical competence, and customer satisfaction. The winner will be recognized by Control Engineering and featured as the cover story of the 2007 Automation Integrator Guide published in December 2006.

Control Engineering ‘s system integration editor, Vance VanDoren, noted that “The success of an automation project depends not only on the technology involved, but the skill with which it is implemented. System integrators specialize in the design, installation, and commissioning of industrial control systems and are often the best option for end users who lack their own in-house engineering resources. Control Engineering is looking for the best-of-the-best to name as the ‘System Integrator of the Year’, not only to recognize excellence, but to help our readers understand what it is that a good system integrator can do.”
