Dayton, O.— Superprox Model SM607 is an ultrasonic prox sensor that can detect edges as thin as 0.003 in. and other small objects moving at 400 in./sec. The device features a flat profile and has fixed sensing windows ranging from 1.0 down to 0.125 in. within a sensing range of 2 in. Advance technology allows for a deadband as short as 1.5 in., resulting in quicker decay of crosstalk and closer object detection. Sampling rates as fast as 0.5 ms, 2,000 samples/sec, and the detection of small reflective surfaces moving past the sensor at 400 in./sec are possible. The device is available in a Ultem blue plastic housing and is said to be easy to install in difficult-to-mount areas. It is sealed to withstand dust, dirt, clean-in-place, 100% humidity, and high pressure washdown conditions.
