Flowmeter for diesel fuel consumption

Flow Technology, Inc. (FTI) has announced its FT/DF turbine flowmeter system, designed for accurate measurements of diesel fuel consumption. Devices must be able to withstand extreme temperature swings in the installation environment, as end users employ them in automotive, marine, aerospace, and power generation applications.

The company says that by pairing the FT Series turbine meter with a LinearLink Temperature Compensated Interface, the FT/DF system can accurately measure diesel fuel at temperatures as low as -50 °F. The device fails open, meaning that in the event of a malfunction, fuel continues to be fed to the generator, ensuring there is no interruption of power.
The FT meter is suited to a wide variety of liquid and gas flow sensing applications. The LinearLink interface supports flowmeter linearization and viscosity correction. It reportedly provides significant improvements in accuracy even under extreme temperature conditions.
