Flowmeter for filling applications

By Control Engineering Staff January 19, 2006

Batchcontrol electromagnetic flowmeter from Krohne Inc. has a compact design and digital bus configuration for volumetric filling systems.

Batchcontrol electromagnetic flowmeter for volumetric filling applications from Krohne is especially suited for batching and dosing electrically conductive liquids and pastes in the pharmaceutical industry. Flow measurement device features an integrated control module and CANopen-based network communications, allowing operation of up to 120 flowmeters with one machine. The 3A-certified meter, and its pulse output equivalent, Batchflux, have among the smallest footprints in the industry, providing a compact configuration for tight spaces. Features include a hygienic design. Ceramic liner meets CIP (cleaning in place) and SIP (steaming in place) process demands. Liner ensures dimensional stability across the operational temperature range. Electronics are potted to ensure integrity during washdown procedures. Housing is constructed of fully welded stainless steel; the measurement tube is compatible with CIP and SIP cleaning and is self-draining. Hygienic connector has a metallic face, ensuring crevice-free and completely flat sealing.
