By Control Engineering Staff August 16, 2007

For applications where you need a simple, inexpensive, visually indicating flowmeter, the EZ-View family of variable-area designs from Hedland offers a handy way to monitor flow outside of a larger DCS or where there is no power available. Besides offering a visual reading, they can be outfitted with an adjustable Flow-Alert switch to signal alarm if the flow is too high or low.

EZ-View meters are spring loaded so they can be installed in any position without affecting accuracy. Since they can operate without long straight pipe sections or flow straighteners, they can be installed in complicated piping arrangements without any loss of accuracy. Reading accuracy is

They are offered in 1/2, 3/4, and 1 in NPTF or 3/4 and 1 in brass and PVC sweat fittings.
