Focus on finer points: UV camera for detailed inspections

Model CS3930UV machine vision camera from Toshiba Teli uses near-UV light to perform detailed inspections and see superficial defects, including scratches, dust, or other imperfections that can adversely affect product quality.

Irvine, CA —Intended for detailed surface inspection of semiconductors, soldering, and other precision applications, Toshiba Teli ’s CS3930UV machine vision camera uses near-UV light to see superficial defects such as scratches or dust that can impact adversely finished product quality.

Camera’s 1/2-in. progressive scan CCD is sensitive to light below the visible spectrum up to 240 nm, reportedly yielding measurement accuracy approximately twice that of standard machine vision cameras operating with white or red light. UV light helps resolve high-magnification images and can only be used with a UV-sensitive camera.

Model CS3930UV enhances inspection results with a 1.5 megapixel resolution (1,392 x 1,040 pixels), a square grid pattern that enables faster computation of image processing, random trigger shutter to allow images to be captured at specific times (1/30 to 1/10,000 s), 7.5 fps capture rate, and 10-bit LVDS digital interface.
