Ford Motor Co. has signed an agreement to use Activplant Performance Management System (APMS) software across its North American Powertrain plants. The deployment of Activplant’s software at Ford is expected to result in improved throughput and efficiency, and more effective scheduling and optimization.

According to Activplant, its Performance Management System is an enterprise management intelligence software solution that provides the software tools plus the analytics and reports that manufacturers need to boost production efficiency, product quality, and total output.

APMS was developed based on the best practices of world-class manufacturers such as Toyota, Ford, Gillette, and Weyerhaeuser. Designed on the Microsoft .Net platform, Activplant can be integrated with existing business systems and applications such as statistical process control, quality measurement, ERP, reporting packages, Web browsers, and wireless pagers.
