Courtesy: B+R Industrial AutomationFor complex machines and systems, B+R offers the ACOPOSinverter P84 with an integrated Powerlink interface and a performance range of 0.37 to 500 kW. The P84 has a selection of onboard digital and analog I/O channels to control a wide range of technology functions. An integrated Powerlink hub also simplifies bus cabling. An encoder interface can be added to the P84 for applications with strict requirements for speed or torque control. This helps fit the inverter perfectly into the B+R Motion concept and allows movements to be synchronized with the servo drives.

Thanks to the integrated B+R Automation Studio environment, no other software tools are needed. The Motion Wizard assists the user when inserting the P84 into the project and handles the most important basic settings. This takes much of the guesswork out of commissioning. The System Diagnostics Manager makes it possible to perform full diagnostics or read the status of the machine even over the Internet.

Case Study Database

Get more exposure for your case study by uploading it to the Control Engineering case study database, where end-users can identify relevant solutions and explore what the experts are doing to effectively implement a variety of technology and productivity related projects.

These case studies provide examples of how knowledgeable solution providers have used technology, processes and people to create effective and successful implementations in real-world situations. Case studies can be completed by filling out a simple online form where you can outline the project title, abstract, and full story in 1500 words or less; upload photos, videos and a logo.

Poll of the Week

Are your industrial networks well defended against cyber attacks?
Like Fort Knox. Solid defense in depth.
Well defended, I think, but not positive.
Working on it, but not there yet.
Few defenses, but who would find us?
We’re wide open, living on borrowed time.
