Charlottesville, Va.; Greenville, N.C. GE Fanuc Automation North America Inc. and Datastream Systems Inc. agreed Feb. 14 an agreement to deliver integrated asset lifecycle management (ALM) solutions globally. They state their agreement brings together Datastream’s software and service capabilities with GE Fanuc’s e-manufacturing systems, business expertise and worldwide customer support. GE Fanuc Automation North America is an affiliate of GE Industrial Systems. Datastream provides asset lifecycle management (ALM) solutions.

The agreement calls for GE Fanuc to offer Datastream 7i and iProcure as its exclusive asset management component for GE Fanuc’s collaborative manufacturing solutions. GE Fanuc will market this solution as Cimplicity Enterprise Asset Management. GE Fanuc also obtains the exclusive rights to offer Datastream 7i and iProcure globally to GE and select industry segments, including automotive original equipment manufacturers, power and energy generation companies and medical facilities.

‘After a thorough review of available offerings, GE Fanuc selected Datastream 7i because of its proven web architecture, depth of functionality and ability to seamlessly integrate with iProcure, Datastream’s industrial procurement network,’ says Kevin Roach, GE Fanuc’s vp. ‘By teaming with Datastream, GE Fanuc enhances its customer-focused collaborative manufacturing solutions, linking capital equipment maintenance strategies with real-time production. This alliance will allow the global manufacturing community to tightly close the loop between equipment performance and machine status for greater productivity and decreased downtime costs.’

GE Fanuc adds that Datastream 7i is the industry’s only proven, web-architected ALM solution that gives customers the latest technology, functionality, ease-of-deployment and administration. Datastream 7i is available as a hosted application and is fully integrated with iProcure, reportedly one of the world’s largest automated industrial procurement networks. ‘This agreement represents an important endorsement of our core products and our ability to execute,’ says Larry Blackwell, Datastream’s president, ceo and chairman. ‘The global offering of our products by GE Fanuc will provide Datastream access to a large, worldwide sales and marketing team, and deliver an important competitive advantage to accelerate our growth.’

GE Fanuc offers a range of collaborative manufacturing solutions that provide capabilities from supply chain execution to Six Sigma-based quality management. With this new agreement, GE Fanuc can integrate Datastream’s software into these solutions, in combination with its Cimplicity software products to supply turnkey enterprise-wide manufacturing systems and support.
