Getting rid of VFD wires

The wireless revolution continues to impact sensors.

In the same way robotics are changing physical functions, the wireless revolution continues to impact sensors. One major advantage for wireless sensors is to gather data in places where wired sensors are either too difficult to install, or in environments where wires might be dangerous or ineffective. Those wireless capabilities are expanding  to the variable frequency drive (VFD) market, there the use of wireless diagnostics allows “engineers to view and diagnose problems without touching the drive or its enclosure.” The evolution of the VFD market is more than just wireless, though; energy management and operational efficiency are just two of the ways VFDs can improve motion control.
