Gigabit industrial Ethernet: Fiber-optic converters from Advantech
The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech introduces the EKI-2741 family of Gigabit industrial Ethernet media converters. By combining the high speed of Gigabit (1,000 Mb/sec) Ethernet with EMI/RFI noise immunity and electrical isolation of fiber-optic cable, the EKI-2741 allows Gigabit Ethernet connections nearly 70 miles (100 km).

Industrial Automation Group of Advantechintroduces the EKI-2741 family of Gigabit industrial Ethernet media converters. By combining the high speed of Gigabit (1,000 Mb/sec) Ethernet with EMI/RFI noise immunity and electrical isolation of fiber-optic cable, the EKI-2741 allows Gigabit Ethernet connections nearly 70 miles (100 km).
EKI-2741SX supports 1000Base-SX fiber connections over multimode fiber up to 1,800 ft (550 m). It supports 1000Base-LX fiber connections over 6.2 miles (10 km). The EKI-2741F supports a Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) slot for optional industry-standard fiber-optic transceiver modules, supporting connections up to nearly 70 miles (100 km). All units include Link Fault Pass-through (LFP), which allows cable breaks or power failures to be signaled to attached devices.
Featuring compact and thin DIN-rail mount metal chassis, the EKI-2741 Media Converters are ruggedized for industrial applications with dual 12 to 48 V dc power inputs, 4,000 V Ethernet ESD protection, power line surge protection of 3,000 V. It
The EKI-2741 series of Gigabit Industrial Ethernet Media Converters can be purchased from Advantech.
