Wood Dale, IL; Hannover, GermanyDanaher Motion will launch its Servoshaft software for simplifying system programming at Hannover Fair later this month. Software lets users run three main control system functions—data monitoring and collection on the PC (SCADA function), the PLC, and motion control—on their own computers. A graphical user interface simplifies operation, reducing programming time and making it easier to optimize machine performance.

Soft PLC in the package meets IEC standard 61131-3 and supports the SFC, FBD, LD, ST, and IL programming languages. Motion control portion, also included in the package, uses a graphical, highly intuitive programming language and can be used to synchronize more than 200 axes with complex motion relationships. OPC server enables communication with each SCADA system; platform also supports data exchange with Profibus and CANopen. Integrated development tools include IEC 61131-3 editor programs and a fast compiler program. Package also has a graphic Motion Editor program and online troubleshooting in conjunction with a soft oscilloscope.

Danaher will illustrate the capabilities of the system at Hannover Fair (Hall 14, Stand J24) with an animated, multi-axis system of Danaher Motion products. The company will also co-exhibit at special presentations for the Sercos Special Interest Group and the EtherCat Technology Group .
