Hannover Messe: Fieldbus, industrial networking organizations

Hannover Messe 2011 hosts its first Field Communications Lounge, teaching visitors about field communication technologies for industrial automation. FDT Group, Fieldbus Foundation, HART Communication Foundation, and PI (Profibus and Profinet International) host the area.

April 7, 2011

Major industry organizations are gathered in a new display area at Hannover Messe 2011 (April 4-8 in Hanover, Germany) to teach visitors about field communication technologies and solutions for industrial automation, show educational presentations, and guide visitors to individual exhibition areas of the sponsoring organizations.

The Field Communication Lounge is sponsored by the FDT Group, Fieldbus Foundation, HART Communication Foundation, and PI (PROFIBUS and PROFINET International). In a series of 30-minute segments, representatives from these organizations are explaining about the latest field communication solutions and applications to improve asset management, lower cost and reduce downtime in all phases of the plant life cycle.

In individual exhibition areas, each organization and its member companies are presenting practical field communications solutions for intelligent field devices, configuration, control and asset management applications, wireless automation, integration products, and more.
