Molex offers the BradConnectivity Ultra-Lock 8-pole Connection System.

Baumer ED753 compact depth gauge is an economical solution
Hannover, Germany and Aarhus/Staffanstorp/Swindon– With hydrostatic pressure transmitter ED753,
Baumer
’s product segment Process Instrumentation launched a compact depth gauge, a piezo-resistive pressure transmitter with a stainless steel housing that is resistant to aggressive substances. The thin, short device is suitable for applications with limited space; it fits in 1-in. pipes often used for guiding and protecting transmitters.
ED753 is provided with the advantages of the ED75X Series. Housing is designed according to protection class IP 68; ventilation is realised by a tube integrated in the cable to enable the measuring device to adjust to ambient pressure. Measuring range reaches from 600 mbar to 20 bar. Accuracy is designed for most standard applications. Depth gauges are suitable for the level measurement of any liquids. No special installations are needed and no interventions or modifications are necessary at the tank.

Dust Networks participated in HART Communication Foundation’s wireless interoperability demonstration at Interkama at Hannover Messe (Hannover Fair). The

networking (WSN) system provided wireless intelligence inside products showcased by industrial automation vendors in the demonstration. “Dust has played a pioneering role in wireless sensor networking,” said Harry Forbes, senior analyst at ARC Advisory Group. “The company’s TSMP technology, now a foundational building block of the WirelessHART standard, has served as a catalyst for the industrial market. Dust’s embedded WSN solutions are a critical step in accelerating the broad adoption of standards-based wireless field devices.”
According to Steve Toteda, vice president/marketing at Dust Networks, “The SmartMesh IA-510 system leverages our experience in developing intelligent embedded wireless sensor networking solutions to provide the best implementation of the WirelessHART standard. We look forward to seeing our customer’s wireless products in the market this year.”
Building on the estimated 25 million HART field devices currently installed, and approximately 3 million new wired HART devices shipping each year, users are embracing the industry’s first unifying wireless field device standard. In March 2008, Emerson became the first process automation supplier to begin taking orders for its WirelessHART enabled products. “Emerson’s Smart Wireless field devices, enabled by Dust Networks’ technology, have been deployed in real-world environments, and our customers have been thrilled with the results,” said Bob Karschnia, vice president of wireless for Emerson Process Management. “We are working with Dust to leverage this success and quickly bring our full range of WirelessHART standards-based solutions to market.”
Molex launches BradConnectivity M23 Signal/Power Connectors; Ultra-Loc system

Molex Inc
. displayed its new BradConnectivity M23 connectors and receptacles for signal and power applications that perform in the harshest industrial environments. They include connectors and receptacles from 6- to 19-pole in straight and right-angled versions; plus power connectors for applications up to 28 A.
“As automation technologies continue to improve the consistency, quality, and cost of products manufactured throughout the world, Molex is at the forefront,” said product marketing specialist, Stefan Schmidt. “With over 100,000 part numbers, no other company offers more connectivity products than Brad. As a result, Molex’s Brad products have become the industry standard in automation solutions.”
An integrated locking clip secures contacts in inserts and special assembly tools are not needed. Field-attachable cable connectors and receptacles in 5+PE and 4+3+PE versions are available. Applying the same modular for signal connectors, both pole counts can be used in straight and right-angled versions. Female contacts with integrated springs assure maximum electrical performance with secure contact reliability in signal and power product ranges.
Features include user-friendly assembly; cable assembly and shielding in one step; clipped-on strain-relief insert prevents cable rotation; flexible EMC-O-Ring for reliable EMC-protection; radially encompassing spring contacts for low plug-in resistance and high mating cycles; and integrated locking clips.
Also debuting at the event was the Ultra-Lock 8-Pole Connection System featuring the convenience and security of an Ultra-Lock connection in a higher pin count for applications such as encoders, resolvers, safety light curtains, trainable sensors, and instrumentation. The system incorporates a threadless push-to-lock connection to simplify assembly and eliminate downtime. A radial-seal design ensures an operator-independent seal.
“Control devices like encoders have higher pin counts than proximity sensors. We designed the new Ultra-Lock 8-pole connector to give our customers the versatility of up to 8 connection points for devices such as encoders, resolvers, trainable sensors, and instrumentation,” said product manager John Sullivan. “The cordsets and receptacles offer the same sure sealing and integrity of the unique Ultra-Lock radial seal and locking mechanism that the industry has grown to expect from BradConnectivity. We believe that it is the fastest, easiest and most secure connection ever introduced.”
