To Historians and others interested in Numerical Control for Machine Tools:

A History of Numerical Control for Machine Tools has been compiled from the contributions of those who were the Early Pioneers in this industry.

The National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution, is collecting information on the field of Numerical Control for Machine Tools. The museum requested of General Electric that a history of GE’s role in the development of N/C be written so that it could be archived for the benefit of future researchers interested in the Second Industrial Revolution. This book of 360 pages is the result of that request.
