Honeywell alliance agreements extend simulation system applications

By Control Engineering Staff September 2, 2005

Honeywell signed alliance agreements with four companies to extend application of its UniSim Design simulation system for the process industries. The agreements with Infochem Computer Services Ltd., Neotechnology Consultants Ltd., Scandpower Petroleum Technology A/S, and Schlumberger Canada Ltd are the latest in a series of collaborations with engineering technology providers who have expertise relevant to UniSim Design. The goal, says Honeywell , is to give its customers greater visibility into their operations to enhance efficiency, cut costs, and improve profitability.

Under the agreements, Honeywell will offer:

InfoChem’s MultiFlash option for calculating phase behavior of complex mixtures;

Neotec’s Pipesys option for the integrated simulation of single- and multi-phase flow in pipes and Black Oil option for calculating phase behavior of petroleum fluids in a non-compositional manner;

Scandpower’s Olgas 2- and 3-phase operations for calculating multi-phase flow properties in pipes; and

Schlumberger’s Amsin for simulating gas and liquid sweetening processes.

UniSim Design enables engineers to create steady-state and dynamic models for plant design, performance monitoring, troubleshooting operational improvement, and business planning and asset management.
