Phoenix, AZ – Honeywell Industry Solutions announced Jan. 3 that it is implementing orders for more than $2 million worth of process control systems, instruments, and engineering services for automation projects at multiple SC Termoelectrica SA power plants in Romania. Gheorghe Tucu,

Honeywell’s sales and country manager, adds that, ‘This modernization allows Termoelectrica to implement advanced process control algorithms; improve the reliability and safety of its power plants; reduce maintenance costs by up to 10%; and reduce startup costs by around 20%.’

The automation solution at Iasi, Romania, employs Honeywell’s process control system and also includes field instrumentation and control valves. The solution controls two 50-MW gas and oil co-generation units. The second phase of the project was completed during 4Q02. Meanwhile, at Iernut, Romania, Honeywell’s process control system is being installed on a 100-MW gas-condensing unit along with field instrumentation, control valves, and analyzers.
