Honeywell Hi-Spec Solutions and Sequencia Corp. expanded their batch manufacturing relationship on June 22 and extended their existing agreement on Sequencia’s OpenBatch software for five years. This will allow Honeywell to continue delivering its TotalPlant batch solution using OpenBatch.

The expanded relationship will also include Sequencia’s Production Manager software as part of Honeywell’s Business.Flex Business Hiway solution for integrating enterprise-level systems with TotalPlant. Production Manager synchronizes the transaction environment of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) world with the real-time environment of the plant, and then automates required execution and reconciliation activities between the two realms. These can include production order downloads from the ERP system to TotalPlant batch and production results reporting back to ERP users.

Likewise, Sequencia’s Procedure Manager software will be made part of Honeywell’s solution for automating manual or semi-automated batch and continuous processes without requiring equipment or process upgrades. Plants with manual or semi-automated processes will be able to use batch automation functions, such as recipe management, procedure management, reporting, electronic records, and electronic signatures.

The new agreement will also license Honeywell’s Site Recipe technology to Sequencia, which will allow the companies to collaborate on expanded enterprise solutions for process manufacturers. The two firms are also using undisclosed financing arrangements to further strengthen their relationship
