HP’s Bouchard headlines NMW 2006 conference


Norwalk, CT —Hewlett Packard’s Gilles Bouchard is slated to head the line-up of keynote speakers at National Manufacturing Week 2006. Bouchard, HP’s executive vice president of global operations, will discuss “Managing multiple routes-to-market in the global marketplace.”

NMW 2006 is gearing up to attract manufacturing leaders from around the world to its annual spring show and conference. Featuring more than 1,000 exhibitors and a comprehensive technical conference, NMW will be held March 20-23, 2006 in suburban Chicago’s Rosemont, IL.

The NMW conference will be geared to small- and mid-sized manufacturers. It will contain 16 tracks and feature more than 400 speakers. Other keynoters include Jack Perkowski, ASIMCO’s chairman and CEO, speaking on “China: opportunities and challenges;” and James Owens, Caterpillar chairman and CEO, discussing “Manufacturing leadership in the global marketplace.” National Instruments’ automation fellow Mike Santori will address “How to compete in a global economy,” and Schneider Electric’s Mary Frances Cox, vice president, operations North American operating div., will speak on achieving a $100 million reduction in Schneider’s manufacturing cost base.

The show floor will feature 13 special focus and technology pavilions. The event’s new venue at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center is expected to reduce exhibiting costs significantly. It is located about five minutes from Chicago’s O’Hare airport.

NMW comprises four shows. They include the 56thNational Design Engineering show, National Enterprise IT show and conference, National Industrial Automation show and conference, and the 58thNational Plant Engineering and Maintenance show and conference.
