Bangalore, India - Impulsesoft Private Ltd . announced July 30 the availability of simultaneous audio and data support for National Semiconductor's Bluetooth chipset. This is a direct outcome of the partnership between the two companies to enable customers to develop unique wireless applications using Bluetooth.
At last month's International Bluetooth Congress in Amsterdam, Impulsesoft and National Semiconductor demonstrated simultaneous ACL and SCO transfers via Bluetooth. As a part of this demonstration, users could listen to music through a wireless headset that connected to a PC, which in turn downloaded MP3 files from the network using a Bluetooth LAN Access Point. The PC running Impulsesoft's Bluetooth stack was used to make the simultaneous data and voice connections.
''National's customers are looking for complete Bluetooth solutions that offer them a competitive advantage,'' said Ajay Padgaonkar, marketing manager, Wireless Division, National Semiconductor Corp. ''By partnering with Impulsesoft, National can now offer its Bluetooth customers proven solutions for multimedia in applications such as telematics and mobile computing.''
Impulsesoft's Bluetooth solutions, including BluePC for Windows and iBTStack for embedded applications, complement National's wireless capabilities that address the ever growing demands of the mobile market. ''Impulsesoft has focused on delivering integrated Bluetooth reference designs and solutions,'' said K. Srikrishna, Impulsesoft ceo. ''National has an enviable portfolio of analog and wireless chipsets. The combined solution provides time to market advantage to customers developing products with Bluetooth audio for embedded and PC applications.''
