Think & Do (Ann Arbor, Mich.) announced Oct. 22 the recent passing of Diana Ipsen, one of the company’s founders and spiritual leaders, following a battle with cancer. “Diana will be greatly missed at Think & Do. She excelled at combining strong business abilities with a deep devotion to the company and its people. Through her sensitivity, sense of mission, and people skills, she played a vital role in building Think & Do’s culture, which is the foundation of our strength. She was indeed our Minister of Culture,” says Ken Spenser, Think & Do’s president and ceo. Ms. Ipsen is survived by her husband, Joseph, her mother, and other family members. Think & Do’s team will dedicate its new Studio release to Ms. Ipsen.

Hundreds of co-workers, customers, friends, and family gathered recently at a memorial for Gary Kurchyn, 50, a senior development executive at ABB Automation (Rochester, N.Y.), who died Oct. 21 following a 15-month battle with cancer. A 27-year-veteran with ABB, Mr. Kurchyn was software development director for ABB’s automation division, and served as the primary software development manager of the original ABB MOD 300 distributed process control system. He also led ABB’s development team through many other software launches, including its Advant and MES software portfolios. Mr. Kurchyn is survived by his wife, daughter, and son.
