Atlanta, Ga. - Indus International Inc. announced a new strategic relationship with Convera . Indus has embedded Convera's RetrievalWare technology into Indus InSite, an Internet-based asset management solution, to empower users with an intelligent search capability that will deliver complete, accurate and relevant information from diverse sources.

"Indus InSite is designed to provide an easy-to-use single point of navigation from which users have all the relevant information they need at their fingertips to make intelligent business decisions," said Larry Hagewood, senior vice president of the InSite Business Unit at Indus. "Embedding Convera's advanced knowledge retrieval technology within InSite helped us achieve this design by providing advanced search capabilities which deliver highly focused information relevant to each user's specific needs. And, because InSite is a hosted, Web-based solution, these capabilities are available to users from anywhere they have Internet access. It fosters collaboration by enabling global access to information."

Leveraging the embedded RetrievalWare technology, InSite users can perform natural language queries using familiar terms and concepts, rather than structured syntax. The system translates these queries into intelligent concept-based searches - compensating for misspellings and other errors - to return complete and accurate information from diverse resources and ranks the results according to relevancy.

"Asset managers should spend their valuable time managing business-critical assets, not searching for data or documents," said Dan Agan, senior vice president, marketing and corporate development, Convera. "Indus InSite, with the embedded Convera technology, will free them to do so. Through our Semantic Network technology and Adaptive Pattern Recognition Processing, it will free them to search the way they think, using concepts rather than keywords."

Coupled with a role-based inbox graphical interface and features such as key performance indicators, Indus InSite's search capabilities provide a simple, yet powerful mechanism for delivering critical information from asset records, work orders, inventory, and other categories to the appropriate personnel throughout an organization - and beyond.
