A variety of industrially hardened Ethernet products and resources were introduced recently by Automation Direct, Beckhoff Automation, Cirronet, Cisco, Electro Standards Laboratories, Moxa Technologies, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, and Tyco Electronics. Trends in these products include lower prices, more compact form factors, greater reliability, and faster speeds.



Two new Rockwell Automation EtherNet/IP module options provide ControlLogix users with the increased performance or capacity needed from their networks.

Industrial Ethernet product introductions include:

Affordable wireless Ethernet for industrial applications : AutomationDirect offers Cirronet’s wireless frequency-hopping radio modems for Ethernet.

Industrial Ethernet switches, streamlined, 8 or 16 ports : Beckhoff Automation’s CU2008 and CU2016 Ethernet switches have an optimized housing design that costs 16% less than earlier models.
