Industrial unmanaged switches optimized for plug-and-play applications in harsh industrial environments

N-Tron CorporationN-Tron CorporationN-Tron Corporation, a manufacturer of rugged industrial Ethernet networking products, introduced two additions to its unmanaged 100 Series product line. Both the five-port 105TX-SL and 16-port 116TX models feature hardened industrial technology in an ultra-slim format. The 100 Series offers products optimized for plug-and-play applications in harsh industrial environments.

The 105TX includes five 10/100BaseTX copper ports capable of simultaneous full-wire speed performance and up to 1.0 GB/s throughput processing. Other features include store-and-forward technology, auto negotiation, auto sensing speed and flow control.

With sixteen 10/100BaseTX copper ports, the 116TX offers a high port count. Like all models in the family, the new product is simple to use. Its plug-and-play operation enables the unit to intuitively configure itself on the network and to perform speed and flow control functions on the fly. The 116TX reportedly provides up to 3.2 GB/s throughput with simultaneous full-wire speed on all connections.

Both models carry MTBF ratings of more than two million hours and provide expanded tolerances to shock, vibration, temperature fluctuations and noise—common elements in factory floor control networks, utilities, wastewater treatment, wind turbines, rail car, intelligent traffic control and transportation applications, according to N-Tron. The new units feature metal DIN-rail enclosures, redundant power inputs, and ESD/surge protection diodes at each port as well as LED indicators for link status and activity.
