Next-Generation Manufacturing Forum sponsored by ARC Advisory Group takes place Feb. 20-24, 2006, in Orlando, FL. Among industry leaders sharing experiences for optimizing manufacturing facilities are Greg Daniels, senior vice president, U.S. manufacturing, Nissan; Hans Schuler, senior vice president, technical and engineering services, BASF; and Jack Bolick, president, process solutions, Honeywell. Topics on the program include achieving standards-based interoperability across the enterprise and emerging wireless technologies.

Pittcon 2006 runs Mar. 12-17, 2006, in Orlando, FL. Educational conference on laboratory science is presented annually by the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh. Technical sessions include bio- and nano-electrochemistry; fluorescence: bioanalytical and biomedical applications; mass spectrometry; and biomolecular interactions and imaging.

Meggitt’s Vibro-Meter Inc . has secured the services of RoMaDyn to enhance its field support and training capabilities within the U.S. industrial condition-monitoring market. RoMaDyn will provide product servicing, commissioning support, and training for Vibro-Meter equipment in the field.

Accutech , a div. of Adaptive Instruments Corp., has received certification from the Canadian Standards Association for its wireless instrumentation. The company delivers wireless instrumentation solutions to process industries and gives industrial users a tool with which to automate measurements. CSA approvals include hazardous location rating as Class I, Div. 1 Group A through Class III, T4 (temperature -40-85 °C) and weather/corrosion types 4 or 4X. Radio module is also IC- (Industry Canada) approved for license-free use.
